Terms of Use
Last updated
Junox is operated by Donte Hartwell, an individual based in Nevada, United States (“we”, “us”, “our”). These terms cover your use of the Junox website and, if you join, the Junox beta. By using either, you agree to them. Junox is early software, so please read the beta section.
The Junox beta
Junox is in active development. Beta features may change, break, or be removed, and the beta may end at any time. We may limit how many people can take part.
The beta is a Chrome extension that you download from our download page and load into Chrome yourself (“Load unpacked”); it isn’t distributed through the Chrome Web Store during the beta. Only install Junox from our download page. You’re responsible for installing, updating and removing your copy.
Who can use Junox
You must be 13 or older to use Junox. If you’re under 18, you may use Junox only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
Learning, not shortcuts
Junox is designed to help you understand material. You’re responsible for following the rules your school, instructor, or certification provider sets about using AI tools, and for the work you submit.
Junox is built not to answer quizzes. It doesn’t analyze quiz or exam pages automatically, and on pages it recognizes as a graded quiz or exam it is instructed to explain the underlying concepts instead of giving answers. This depends on recognizing those pages and on AI behaving as instructed, so it may not always work. Don’t use Junox, or try to work around these safeguards, to get answers during a graded assessment.
Junox AI and your own AI provider
By default, the extension uses Junox AI: your requests go to the Junox server, which uses OpenAI to generate answers. During the beta, Junox AI has a daily request limit for each install. We may change that limit, pause Junox AI, or stop offering it at any time.
You can instead connect your own AI provider, such as Ollama or an OpenAI-compatible service, with your own account or API key. When you do, your requests go to that provider, its own terms and policies apply, and you’re responsible for complying with them, for any charges, and for keeping your API key safe.
AI explanations can be wrong
Junox generates explanations with AI. They can be incomplete or inaccurate. Check important information against your course material or another trusted source, and don’t rely on Junox for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.
Acceptable use
When you use the website or the beta, please don’t:
- break the law or infringe anyone else’s rights;
- try to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to Junox systems;
- submit spam or automated signups;
- use Junox AI in automated or excessive ways, or try to get around its daily limits, for example by extracting or reusing the beta access key built into the extension, or by sending requests to the Junox server outside the extension;
- copy, resell, or reverse engineer Junox beyond what the law allows.
Feedback
You can report problems and send ideas through our feedback page. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Junox without owing you anything for them.
Ownership
Junox, its name, logo, character, and website content belong to us. Your course material and the questions you ask remain yours.
Disclaimers and liability
The website, the beta extension and its downloads, and Junox AI are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Junox.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Junox is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States. To the extent the law allows, any dispute relating to these terms or Junox will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Nevada.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Junox develops. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page.
